Who are we?

The LHS Education Foundation is a group of Longmont citizens, educators and alumni who are interested in continuing the tradition of academic excellence at LHS. Since its inception in 1993, the Foundation has awarded thousands of dollars have been awarded annually in the form of grants to academically based programs at LHS.

What do we do?

First, we raise funds to provide resources for academic enhancements which are not covered through the normal school budget. As part of our 2009-2010 fundraising effort, we are working to build the Trojan Nation with the Trojan Alumni Club, local business support and parent and staff support.

LHS staff members apply for grants from the Foundation to cover all or part of the expenses for these enhancements to the curriculum.
Secondly,  we recognize students who have demonstrated achievement of academic excellence and/or have enhanced the overall climate of Longmont High School.

Student of the Term

Each quarter, two students from each grade (four students from the senior class) are recognized as Student of the Term. These students have made significant accomplishments in academics or personal achievement and have contributed positively to the learning community at LHS. Nominations are made by the faculty and staff at LHS.

Gordon Cramer Award

Congratulations to the 2009 Winners
Ryker Haddock and Nikki Stetson

At the end of the year, the Foundation recognizes two seniors as Outstanding Scholar Athletes. Named for former LHS head football coach Gordon Cramer, the award is given to one female and one male athlete who have demonstrated academic excellence in tandem with their athletic careers at LHS.

Grants

Grants are awarded to LHS teachers to fund projects they have proposed. The grants are for one-time expenses, primarily for teaching materials or equipment.
