Alex Cunningham (male)
Nominated by: Ms. Lembo,
Ms. Guida, Mr. Barnes and Ms. Peppler
"Alex is so dedicated to trying his...He finds success, too, never settling for doing
things by half measures. He is also a really pleasant kid to have around:
funny, kind, caring, etc. ...He is a driven,
well-mannered, accepting, kind student....I see a great leader blossoming in him and see him as a great LHS
student leader for his entire high school career. He is very polite, organized, thoughtful
and a visionary in my opinion...Alex is one of the most mature young men I've ever
met. ....completely reliable
and dependable, and I think the world of him."

Drake Greeott (male)
Nominated by: Diane Ruby
"Drake is Mr. Icebreaker. He made and continues
to make a difference....I cannot even begin to tell you how much his willingness to step up
and break the ice meant whenever I introduced an activity that was silly,
goofy, awkward....Whether he likes it or not – his peers look up
to him and yes, follow him.. ...He steps up when needed and stands back when others are leading. It
is not about him – it is about the team aspect of the class. He is a team
player in many aspects."

Aubree Adams (female)
Nominated by: Donna Sorenson
"10th grader Aubree Adams is coping with
incredible family challenges this fall... In
spite of the obvious stress this has been for Aubree, she has worked hard in
class and has an A in Keyboarding.... She comes to class with a positive attitude and a
smile. She works well in teams and is helpful. It’s a delight to have her in my
first class of the day!"

Dailyn
Johnson (female)
Nominated by: Chris Barnes, Richard Martyr"Dailyn is
perhaps one of the brightest students I've ever had the pleasure of teaching.
Her writing skill is so exemplary that I've often used her beautiful written as
a template to which to refer for students who need help in writing persuasive
essays....she perfectly embodies the true spirit of the award:
academic determination, personal responsibility and maturity, humility and
humor, and citizenship and character.
Quiet competence and academic
excellence describe well the presence Dailyn brings to my Honors Chemistry
class each day we meet. In a class of
high-level achievers she stands out as a thoughtful, articulate presence,
second to none.....Dailyn comes to class ready to learn
and focused. She consistently
demonstrates the positive impact one person’s approach can have on those
nearby. In addition to her own academic
achievements, she has a similar positive effect on those around her....Dailyn practices being thoughtfully
engaged in the topic at hand...She is remarkably poised and self-confident
and provides a good example of how one can disagree with a fellow student or
teacher without being disagreeable."
